Ensure animal welfare or else renounce at using animals
The anthropocentric science will have troubles to provide evidence of sentience in animals. Solely objects that can be measured and compared to a known model are accepted as true. When scientists are financed by sponsors whose profit could be impaired by the detection of higher awareness in animal species, nothing will happen that is not allowed. However, I dare to know that all beings are individuals, equipped with an ego that senses pain, desire, and much more, but maybe quite differently from what we are able to imagine or to verify. Nevertheless I can take the responsibility of the use of animals, but only if I get fully envolved with ensuring the animal’s welfare and its killing as free from pain as possible.
